Padres’ Stauffer placed on DL
The San Diego Padres placed Tim Stauffer on the 15-day disabled list with a right triceps injury.
The right-hander played catch Wednesday and reported no problems, but the Padres didn’t want to take any chances. The 29-year-old should be ready by mid-April.
Stauffer, a former first-round pick, made 31 starts in 2011, going 9-12 with a 3.73 ERA in 186 innings.
