Life certainly isn’t for sissies. Not only are folks struggling in Greece with austerity measures, but many are struggling here on the home front, in these United States. Trying to keep afloat can sometimes be a juggling act when money isn’t abundant. Indeed money can be the root of all evil, and this is especially so when you don’t have enough to make ends meet.
Folks need help and it shouldn’t take a suicide to draw attention to the issue. The elderly man who tragically shot and killed himself outside the Greek parliament in Athens (John Kass April 5 column) can be the poster child for all of those financially in dire straits — anywhere in this world.
