LHP Zach Braddock was placed on the inactive list at Class AAA Nashville for an undisclosed problem. Braddock missed time with the Brewers last season while being treated for a sleep disorder and later was sent down to Nashville, where he was placed on the inactive list for the same issue.
RHP Santo Manzanillo was placed on the disabled list at Class AA Huntsville because of shoulder tightness. One of the top pitching prospects in the organization, Manzanillo injured the shoulder in an offseason auto accident in the Dominican Republic, but recovered to pitch in spring training and was cleared for the season.
RHP Zack Greinke won’t mind if he never pitches again in Wrigley Field. After surrendering eight earned runs in 3 2/3 innings Wednesday there, Greinke has surrendered 16 runs (14 earned runs) nine innings in two starts on the road against the Cubs.
3B Aramis Ramirez was given the day off Thursday in the finale of the four-game series against the Cubs, his former club. Ramirez has struggled at the plate in the early going, batting .091 (2-for-22) though he has knocked in five runs.
LHP Mitch Stetter signed a minor-league deal and was assigned to Class AA Huntsville. Stetter played for the Brewers briefly last season before undergoing hip surgery. He signed in the off-season with the Rangers, who released him at the end of spring training.
