Twins claim Thomas; transfer Baker to 60-day DL
The Minnesota Twins claimed outfielder Clete Thomas off waivers and transferred right-hander Scott Baker to the 60-day disabled list, the club announced on Saturday.
Thomas was designated for assignment by the Detroit Tigers on Thursday. He has a career .253 batting average with eight home runs and 48 RBI in four seasons, all with Detroit.
Baker is expected to miss the rest of the season with a right (throwing) elbow injury.
