49ers’ schedule loaded with primetime games
The 49ers’ 2012 schedule features five primetime games, tied with seven other teams for the most in the NFL.
San Francisco will open the season on the road on Sunday, Sept. 9 at Green Bay in an early battle between the top two seeds in the NFC playoffs last season. That will be followed by a Sunday night home game against Detroit.
The 49ers play three of their first four games on the road, including trips to Minnesota and the New York Jets.
Week 5 kicks off an important three-game home stretch against Buffalo, the New York Giants and Seattle, with the Seahawks being a Thursday night game.
The 49ers have 11 days between games, when they will travel to play Arizona on Monday, Oct. 29 in their only road game over a seven-week stretch.
Coming out of their Week 9 bye, the 49ers play host to St. Louis and then another Monday night against Chicago.
Then comes an all-important stretch of four road games in five weeks. A home game against Miami is sandwiched between trips to New Orleans, St. Louis, New England (Sunday night) and Seattle.
The 49ers close out the regular season at home against Arizona on Dec. 30.
