Boyle likely out for Game 6 after suffering concussion
New York Rangers C Brian Boyle suffered a concussion, coach John Tortorella said, on a hard check to the head by Ottawa’s Chris Neil in the third period of the Rangers’ 2-0 loss Saturday in
Game 5 to the Senators. Tortorella also compared the “dangerous, dirty” hit to the one
that got Phoenix’s Raffi Torres a 25-game suspension Saturday for concussing Chicago’s
Marian Hossa.
“Well, they have a blueprint,” Tortorella said. “It was probably the exact same hit as
Torres, different part of the ice. (Neil) launches himself, (it’s) a head shot, the puck’s
at the goal line when he’s hit. So the blueprint’s there. … Not too much research to be
done there.”
