Ex-baseball ace Clemens ”trapped” in web of deceit –

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Former baseball star Roger Clemens
wove a web of deceit to cover up his steroid use, going so far
as to lie about it in testimony before Congress, a prosecutor
said at the start of ex-pitcher’s second perjury trial on
Monday. Proof of Clemens’ steroid use includes needles and
bloody swabs that independent tests have shown contain the
former elite pitcher’s DNA and performance-enhancing drugs,
Assistant U.S. Attorney Steven Durham said.

Mongolia to the necks of the world’s most elite athletes, a
display at the British Museum investigates the journey of the
4,700 Olympic medals to be handed out in London this summer.
Four gold medals designed for the London 2012 Games glisten on
display in an exhibition which details the history of all the
gold, silver and bronze medals using shavings, ancient
medallions, and original moulds.
