The architecture tourism lovers among us — and there are many people who build their travel on such pursuits — might want to take a look at a new list compiled by This Old House (the public television show that 4-year-old me frowned at whenever it was on instead of something involving Snuffleupagus).

The show’s website has unveiled 2012’s best neighborhoods to view old houses in the Midwest. Entries include Beverly (here in Chicago) as well as areas in other large cities (Minneapolis), small towns (Peninsula, Ohio) and … wait, Fargo is in the Midwest?

Regardless, it’s an interesting compilation that could inform your to-do list next time you’re headed to, say, South Bend, Ind.

See the list here.
