After taking Chicago by storm since last July, Forever Marilyn’s gig has come to an end in the Windy City. While some may label the 26-foot, 34,000-pound (“The Seven Year Itch” film image) statue of Marilyn Monroe as being sexist, Monroe was a sex symbol and it is what it is.
In any case, the next stop is Palm Springs, Calif. After all, “Some Like It Hot” and Marilyn may be itching to go West. Nevertheless, it’s on with the show, and my hunch, is that Forever Marilyn will be a sensation wherever she goes.
