DanceWorks Chicago and Muntu Dance Theatre offer a dual program that culls from the repertoire of each company. From DanceWorks: “Sada,” “Call the Whole Thing” and “Nocturnal Sense”; and from Muntu: “Djalli Dong,” Djembe Stroll and Djembe Drum Talk (Muntu musicians), “Sorsorne” and “Hamana.”
Why go: Besides individual works from DanceWorks and Muntu, the ensembles will perform collaborations including “See(in) Me,” “If Ever” and a finale.
Reconsider: Mashups (DanceWorks, a technical/artistic experimental company; Muntu, African and contemporary African-American dance) can be hit or miss.
