“It’s kind of how dumb do you have to be?” Dunn said Wednesday. “You guys see how many times the drug test guys are here. I feel like they’re here at least once a homestand.
“I don’t want to call you stupid, but you kind of look yourself in the mirror and it’s pretty dumb.”
Colon pitched for the Sox in 2003 and part of 2009. The Sox beat him twice this season, the latter time Aug. 12 when the A’s visited U.S. Cellular Field.

This marked the second time in a week a player from a postseason contender was suspended for testing positive for PEDs. Giants outfielder

also was assessed a 50-game suspension.
“It’s more you look at your team and the guys you count on,” Ventura said of the extended damage. “Those guys go out for something like that, and it hurts more than their reputation. It hurts the guys who are playing on the team.”

Now, the Sox have promoted Sanchez, 20, from Double-A Birmingham to Triple-A Charlotte after he batted .370 in 30 games for the Barons.
In a combined 122 games with Class-A Winston-Salem and Birmingham, Sanchez is hitting .329 with one home run, 55 RBIs, 75 runs scored, 23 doubles, seven triples and 26 stolen bases.
Last month, Sanchez played in the Futures Game during All-Star festivities featuring top minor league talent.
His promotion is intriguing because of his age and that the Sox are uncertain at third base with Kevin Youkilis likely to become a free agent and Brent Morel attempting to recover from an injury-plagued season at Charlotte. Sanchez also can play second base.
