BALTIMORE — Jose Lopez will make his Chicago White Sox debut Thursday at third base.
Lopez, a 2006 American League All-Star infielder, will bat second. He was promoted from Triple-A Charlotte to take the roster spot of pitcher Dylan Axelrod, who will return from Double-A Birmingham on Monday night to face Minnesota.
Lopez, 28, batted .306 in 49 at-bats at Charlotte and .375 overall with Triple-A Columbus and the Knights.
