DUKE LAVERY LIVES AS IAN BUCHANAN RETURNS TO “GH”: Just weeks after Ian Buchanan wrapped up his role as the nefarious Ian McAllister on “Days of our Lives,” the actor has returned to “General Hospital” in the role of Duke Lavery, a part he last played in 1989. The character, then taken over by Greg Beecroft, appeared to have been killed off in 1990, but it now turns out that the dead man was an imposter.
Meanwhile, Steve Burton, who has played Jason on “GH” for 21 years, has opted to leave the show and relocate with his family to Tennessee. Burton will last appear in late October or early November. Among the actor’s future plans might be a project with former castmate James Franco (Franco).
Recently arrived on “General Hospital” is Marshall Hilliard in the role of a police officer. His prior daytime roles include Dylan on “Days of our Lives” and Hart on “Guiding Light.”
“Young and Restless” has recast the role of Noah Newman, which will now be played by Kevin Adamson, who worked with “Young and Restless'” new executive producer and head writer, Jill Farren-Phelps, when he appeared on the TeenNick serial “Hollywood Heights.” He will debut on Monday, Oct. 1.
The ABC Family channel has renewed the groundbreaking soap “Switched at Birth,” now finishing up its first season. Critically acclaimed “Bunheads” was also given the go-ahead for more episodes to complete its first season, but “Jane By Design” has been canceled after just one year.
