It has been suggested that due to the decision of state representatives to spend money appropriated for retirement funding in other areas, all now must bear the load of the state’s fiscal irresponsibility. No matter that teachers have paid into this fund throughout their entire careers. Before reaching into the retirement plans of educators, state legislators (including the governor) should reduce the benefits of their very lucrative pensions. Lead by example.
