Running back Donovonn Young had a career day with 124 yards on 21 carries. Quarterback Nathan Scheelhaase returned from a concussion against Michigan to connect on 17 of 27 passes for 176 yards, but he failed to connect on some big pass plays that cost them.
Getting defensive:
Indiana entered the game averaging 407.7 yards per Big Ten game, but the Illini held the Hoosiers to a season-low 292 yards, including only 121 yards passing. Indiana had averaged 303.1 passing yards per game on the season.

Defensive end Justin Staples’ late hit on third down kept alive an Indiana drive that allowed the Hoosiers to tie the game 14-14.
