No. 18 Texas 79, Texas A&M-Corpus; Christi 30: Freshman Imani McGee-Stafford recorded career highs with 20 points and 11 rebounds and Nneka Enemkpali registered her fifth straight double-double as the host Longhorns cruised to victory.

Enemkpali finished with 11 points and 18 rebounds to tie Tiffany Jackson (2006) for the school record with five consecutive double-doubles in a season. Cokie Reed added 14 of her season-high 16 points in the first half for the Longhorns (5-0), who shot 63.3 percent from the field in the first 20 minutes.

Texas held the Islanders (0-8) without a field goal for the first 8:30 to take a 16-2 lead. The Longhorns finished the half with a 21-0 run to build a 46-9 halftime lead. Nine points matches the fewest first-half points allowed in the program’s history.

Janae Blount led the way with 14 points for Texas A&M-Corpus; Christi, which made just 3 of its 31 field-goal attempts in the first half and shot 14.5 percent for the game.

Chelsea Bass added 11 points for Texas. The Longhorns, who have beaten Texas A&M-Corpus; Christi in all six meetings, have eight days off before hosting No. 21 UCLA on Dec. 8.
