*Let’s Paint the School: Caroline Sibley School Project. Volunteers meet at a Calumet City school to paint the interior. Registration 8-9 a.m. (615-870-2241)
*Community Blood Drive, Fire Station No. 5, Bolingbrook, 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
*Chicago Botanic Garden in Glencoe. 9 a.m. Volunteers will assist with a variety of indoor and outdoor projects.
*Des Plaines River cleanup at Santa Fe Prairie Nature Preserve in Hodgkins, starting at 10 a.m. (708-466-2715)
*USO military donation drive and letter-writing campaign at USO of Illinois Navy Pier Center, 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Show support for our active troops stationed abroad by bringing donations for care packages and cash donations, and by writing letters. (708-826-0048)
