No. 8 Penn State 71, Ohio State 56: Maggie Lucas scored 18 points as the host Nittany Lions came back from a nine-point halftime deficit to beat the Buckeyes and remain undefeated in Big Ten play.
Alex Bentley added 16 points for Penn State (17-2, 7-0) while Nikki Greene chipped in 11 points and 13 rebounds. The Nittany Lions outscored Ohio State (11-9, 1-6) 43-19 in the second half, shooting 86.7 percent (13-for-15) from the foul line and outreboundeding the Buckeyes 37-28.
Tayler Hill paced Ohio State with 28 points on 5 of 9 shooting from beyond the arc, Ameryst Alston scored 12 and Ashley Adams grabbed a team-high 12 rebounds.
After Penn State scored the first seven points of the game, Hill hit three 3-pointers to spur a 14-3 Buckeyes run. Ohio State closed the first half on a 10-run to take a 37-28 lead into halftime.
Hill made a layup to start the second half before the Nittany Lions used a 20-2 run to take a 48-41 lead with 12:36 left. A 10-2 jaunt moments later pushed the cushion to 11 as the Buckeyes didn’t threaten down the stretch.
