The following items were taken from Elgin police records.

It took Elgin police less than five minutes to locate a man who had allegedly robbed a downtown convenience story just before 8 p.m. Feb. 8. A 23-year-old Chicago resident was apprehended after a short struggle and charged with armed robbery, aggravated robbery, possession of a firearm and theft. Police responded after an emergency call from a convenience story on Chicago Street. Police were advised that the man had displayed a weapon and left the store after taking merchandise, undisclosed amounts of cash and a handgun kept in the story for protection. The emergency caller told police the man was walking eastbound across the Chicago Street Bridge. H was apprehended in the area of 80 S. Grove. Police recovered cash and merchandise.

A 48-year-old Elgin man was charged with two counts of domestic battery following an arrest just after midnight on Feb. 18 on Todd Farm Road.

A 23-year-old Chicago man was charged with two counts of domestic battery and two counts of resisting a police officer following an arrest about 7:30 a.m. Feb. 18 on Talman Avenue. The man allegedly punched and kicked the woman after he accused her of being unfaithful. The man was observed at the Chicago Street Metra station and apprehended following a four-block foot chase.

A 27-year-old Elgin woman was arrested and charged with four counts of forgery and two counts of issuing or delivering a forged document on Feb. 14. The woman was accused of having involvement in cashing checks totaling more than $2,100.

An Elgin woman had $520 in cash taken from her purse during a robbery in an apartment on Mark Avenue on Feb. 8. A screen on a door was damaged when the unknown robber entered the apartment.
