*A Wednesday editorial misidentified the ethics office where investigators concluded in 2009 that there was “probable cause” to believe that then-U.S. Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. directed or at least knew of an ally’s alleged attempt to buy the appointment of Jackson to a vacant U.S. Senate seat. The investigators worked for the Office of Congressional Ethics.

*In some editions of Wednesday’s Good Eating section, two ingredients were scrambled in a chocolate buttermilk cake recipe that appeared with The Daley Question column. The correct ingredient amounts are 21/4 cups sugar and 1 teaspoon vanilla.
