Dec 3 (Reuters) – Royal Dutch Shell Plc’s Shell

Canada issued an alert for a spill into the St. Clair River, in

a notice with Ontario’s Sarnia-Lambton Network Alert System on

Tuesday.

“Earlier this morning a hydrocarbon leak occurred at Shell

and a small amount of this material traveled to the St Clair

River. Shell Canada crews are currently responding and have

deployed cleanup equipment. The Ontario Environment Ministry and

downstream Communities have been notified,” the notice said.

The company had earlier issued an alert for an oil sheen in

Talfourd Creek.
