MESA, Ariz. — The streets and parking lots already are being marked Thursday morning in preparation of the first game at new Cubs Park.
For Emilio Bonifacio and Mike Olt, this is their first chance to make a strong impression in a game situation for the Chicago Cubs against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Bonifacio, who joined the Cubs less than two weeks ago, will bat leadoff and could provide an alternative to Starlin Castro.
Olt, who is trying to overcome vision problems, could challenge at third base. He will handle the designated hitter duties and bat eighth.
