1. Texans: Jadeveon Clowney, DE, South Carolina. There is talk of Buffalo’s Khalil Mack here, but imagine Clowney’s production if he played in the MAC.
Version 1.0 pick: Clowney
2. Rams: Greg Robinson, OT, Auburn. What would they call the show on turf if Johnny Manziel is drafted here? Jeff Fisher goes for a left tackle instead.
1.0: Robinson
3. Jaguars: Sammy Watkins, WR, Clemson. They’re in dire need of a QB and coach Gus Bradley might lean to defense, but Watkins could be the safest pick in the draft.
1.0: Khalil Mack
4. Browns: Khalil Mack, LB, Buffalo. They were solid on defense last season and are another team in dire need of a QB, but new coach Mike Pettine is a defensive guy.
1.0: Watkins
5. Raiders: Mike Evans, WR, Texas A&M.; This pick has to be between OT and WR. The biggest question is whether owner Mark Davis meddles in the process.
1.0: Evans
6. Falcons: Jake Matthews, OT, Texas A&M.; It would not be surprising if GM Thomas Dimitroff looks to move up the board, but left tackle is a pressing need.
1.0: Matthews
7. Buccaneers: Aaron Donald, DT, Pittsburgh. They’re rumored to be looking to bail out of this pick for more selections. If they stick, do you think Lovie Smith goes offense first?
1.0: Donald
8. Vikings: Darqueze Dennard, CB, Michigan State. Yes, they need a QB, but the Vikings are a lot like the Bears. They could go with a defensive player at all three levels.
1.0: Anthony Barr
9. Bills: Taylor Lewan, OT, Michigan. They want to trade up, likely for a left tackle, but they can get a pretty good lineman here.
1.0: Eric Ebron
10. Lions: Anthony Barr, LB, UCLA. In a draft that’s deepest at WR, they can find help for Calvin Johnson later and prioritize a pass rusher over needed secondary help.
1.0: Dennard
11. Titans: Justin Gilbert, CB, Oklahoma State. They need a playmaker in the secondary, and Gilbert would be an instant upgrade to the return game.
1.0: Johnny Manziel
12. Giants: Eric Ebron, TE, North Carolina. An OT would be ideal here, but Eli Manning also could use a big target in the middle of the field, and Ebron is by far the best TE.
1.0: Lewan
13. Rams: Johnny Manziel, QB, Texas A&M.; Where there’s smoke, there’s fire, and rumors have circulated they’re looking to deal Sam Bradford — as unrealistic as that is.
1.0: Blake Bortles
14. Bears: Calvin Pryor, S, Louisville. Donald would be ideal, but if he isn’t available, GM Phil Emery’s background suggests a dynamic athlete. Pryor could be that guy.
1.0: Pryor
15. Steelers: Kyle Fuller, CB, Virginia Tech. An aging secondary can get a real boost with the versatile Fuller, who blitzes well and would be an ideal fit for Dick LeBeau.
1.0: Fuller
16. Cowboys: Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, S, Alabama. Rod Marinelli takes over a defense that was putrid last season, and reinforcements are in need. Clinton-Dix fills a big hole on the back end.
1.0: Zack Martin
17. Ravens: Zack Martin, OT, Notre Dame. The running game was inadequate last season, and Martin can step in right away with the flexibility to play right tackle or guard.
1.0: Clinton-Dix
18. Jets: Brandin Cooks, WR, Oregon State. After signing Eric Decker in free agency, they get a faster target to revamp the receiving corps for Geno Smith.
1.0: Odell Beckham
19. Dolphins: Cyrus Kouandjio, OT, Alabama. They lost two offensive linemen in the locker-room meltdown and must find a building block for the future.
1.0: C.J. Mosley
20. Cardinals: Derek Carr, QB, Fresno State. Bruce Arians needs a QB to develop, and with Blake Bortles and Carr to choose from, he goes with the stronger arm.
1.0: Dee Ford
21. Packers: Ryan Shazier, LB, Ohio State. They’re in a tough spot to find a safety, but they can get a LB who flies in Shazier.
1.0: Louis Nix
22. Eagles: Odell Beckham, WR, LSU. Defensive needs stand out, especially in the secondary, but the release of DeSean Jackson created a gaping hole.
1.0: Cooks
23. Chiefs: Marqise Lee, WR, USC. They can relieve pressure on Jamaal Charles and the running game by adding a playmaker on the outside.
1.0: Lee
24. Bengals: Bradley Roby, CB, Ohio State. They can stay in-state and get a CB with great athletic upside.
1.0: Gilbert
25. Chargers: Louis Nix, DT, Notre Dame. They need an anchor in the middle of the defensive line, and Nix might be the best in the draft to fill that need.
1.0: Stephon Tuitt
26. Browns: Blake Bortles, QB, Central Florida. One of the QBs could fall to the Browns, and Bortles is arguably the most NFL-ready of the bunch.
1.0: Shazier
27. Saints: Jason Verrett, CB, TCU. Verrett has a great nose for the ball and would be versatile in Rob Ryan’s scheme.
1.0: Verrett
28. Panthers: Morgan Moses, OT, Virginia. Depth at WR allows them to wait to fill that need. Moses can be a Day 1 starter at right tackle.
1.0: Kouandjio
29. Patriots: Xavier Su’a-Filo, G, UCLA. Bill Belichick has to add young talent on the defensive line, but the interior of the offensive line is weak and the best guard makes sense here.
1.0: Ra’Shede Hageman
30. 49ers: Dee Ford, DE, Auburn. They have six picks in the first three rounds and can take a shot at moving the productive Ford to OLB in their 3-4 scheme.
1.0: Kony Ealy
31. Broncos: C.J. Mosley, LB, Alabama. Mosley has a yellow flag when it comes to medical issues, but he should be a solid pro and would fill their greatest need.
1.0: Su’a-Filo
32. Seahawks: Jace Amaro, TE, Texas Tech. An athletic option in the middle of field would open things up for Russell Wilson, but they could trade down with a team seeking a QB.
1.0: Cody Latimer
