SAN DIEGO — Hot-hitting Luis Valbuena will return to the Chicago Cubs’ lineup Friday night against San Diego.
Valbuena, who didn’t start Thursday, is 11 for 24 in his past six games. He will start at second base.
Junior Lake is batting .378 during an eight-game hitting streak. Lake will bat second.
The Padres will wear brown jersey tops from the 1984 season in commemoration of the 30th anniversary of their National League title. Several Padres from that team that beat the Cubs in the playoffs will throw the ceremonial first pitch.
