Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

I hit the road to Olivet Nazarene University for the Chicago Bears first training camp practice of the season.

Training camp draws a lot of attention from sportswriters and fans eager to see how position battles play out, but the two hours of action on the field each day are fairly dull. Lots of standing around and stretching with occassional drills some activity resembling plays. My favorite addition this year involved the players lifting a giant yoga ball over their heads.

I filed 150 photos of Bears new and old on the field, but here are a couple Instagrams off my iPhone. I love using the phone while on assignment to catch scenes in between the action and being able to share them in real time.

One of the quirks of this blog format is the wide horizontal display for most photos. I’m still learning how best to use that and may pair Instagram squares together to fill the space. Let me know in the comments if you come across any formatting that works well or find problems; we’re learning our way around the new website here, too.
