CHICAGO TRIBUNE’S REAL ESTATE WEB SITE AWARDED BEST SITE BY NAREE
CHICAGO, June 25, 2001 – The Chicago Tribune’s Real Estate web site has received the National Association of Real Estate Editors’ Best Web Site Award every year it has been presented. This year the Tribune received the award, presented on June 9 in Salt Lake City at the NAREE’s 35th Annual Real Estate Journalism Conference. Judges’ comments cited superior editorial content, design and ease of use as significant reasons for choosing the Tribune.
Users benefit from the Tribune’s blended search engine, which results in significantly more listings than other real estate sites. The Tribune also provides more detailed local editorial content, including addresses, once consumers hone in on specific properties of interest.
In March 2001, the Chicago Tribune Real Estate web site recorded more than 5 million page views, a record for the site and a 66 percent increase from one year ago. “No other local real estate site is providing consumers with as much information as the Chicago Tribune,” says Bob Birkentall, business development manager of Classified Real Estate. “We will continue upgrading the site to meet the needs of all our users.” The Real Estate web site can be found online at chicagotribune.com.
