WHISLER TO LEAD CHICAGO TRIBUNE NATIONAL ADVERTISING TEAM

CHICAGO, January 24, 2001 – Jack Whisler has joined the Chicago Tribune as division manager for the Chicago Tribune national advertising team, announced Dennis Grant, vice president of Advertising for the Chicago Tribune.

Reporting to director of national advertising Dan Dunn, Whisler will oversee selling efforts in the Chicago Tribune’s local national accounts in categories such as travel/tourism, technology and financial/banking and national telemarketing.

Prior to joining the Chicago Tribune, Whisler was Southern States national sales manager for the Los Angeles Times Dallas office. He also held a variety of managerial and sales positions at Pioneer Press, including display sales manager.

“Jack Whisler’s experience will be a great asset for the Chicago Tribune,” Dunn said. “We’re looking for his leadership as we strive to enhance our national advertising efforts.”
