ALISON SCHOLLY NAMED CHICAGO TRIBUNE VICE PRESIDENT

CHICAGO, January 26, 2007 — Chicago Tribune announced today that Alison Scholly, general manager of Chicago Tribune Interactive since 2003, has been named a vice president of the company. Over those four years, Chicago Tribune Interactive has grown rapidly, with audience and page views increasing at rates well into double digits and revenue more than doubling.

Scholly will continue to lead Chicago Tribune Interactive’s operations and development of new interactive products and websites, including its core sites of chicagotribune.com, metromix.com and ChicagoSports.com. She also oversees efforts to build out key new content areas, revenue streams, and develop interactive strategies and businesses for Chicago Tribune.

“Alison and her team have built a customer-focused, rapidly growing business that delivers news and advertising to customers every day in ways that clearly create value,” says Scott Smith, Chicago Tribune publisher. “Over the past year, she also distinguished herself with her leadership on Tribune Company-wide initiatives that will bring major improvements to all our newspaper sites.”

In December 2006, Scholly was included in Presstime magazine’s “20 under 40” feature, which highlights the newspaper industry’s most promising young leaders.

Scholly joined Tribune Company in 1994, came to Chicago Tribune in 1998, and has held a variety of interactive roles, including editor of metromix.com and executive producer of Chicago Tribune Interactive.

Scholly holds a bachelor’s degree in anthropology and communications from Vanderbilt University and a master’s degree in journalism form the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University.
