Sure, you can separate an egg with your fingers, or by pouring the yolk back and forth from one half-shell to the other. Perhaps you prefer to buy some fancy-shmancy kitchen gadget to do the job.
But none of those methods is as much fun, or will make you feel as silly, as the YolkFish.
The process is simple. Crack an egg into a bowl. Gently squeeze the plastic YolkFish’s sides. Creep up on the unsuspecting yolk, then place the fish’s lips on top of it. Let up on the pressure, and the yolk is sucked into the fish. Another gentle squeeze plops the yolk into an awaiting bowl — or propels it across the kitchen in the direction of the dog (no reason the cook should have all the fun).
