Congratulations to Jason Lagger, High School Athlete of the Month!

Jason will be featured in the TribLocal printed edition on Nov. 20. Want to nominate an athlete for our next challenge? Go here.

The finalists:

Jason Lagger, soccer. Senior at Geneva High School.

Why Jason deserves your vote: “Jason Lagger has 10 goals and 2 assists for the varsity soccer team. He has done this while occupying a somewhat defensive role in the Geneva Vikings lineup. In addition to the offensive stats, he has been the leader of a team that has posted 5 shutouts in 13 matches. Not only does Jason lead by example on the field, but he is an exemplary student in the classroom.”

Josh Leonhard, football. Senior at Batavia High School.

Why Josh deserves your vote: Leonhard helped Batavia secure fourth straight conference title with win over rival Geneva, extending the Bulldogs’ conference win streak to 25. He had a 45-yard interception return in the fourth quarter and also had pivotal sack.

Note: You may vote once every 12 hours.
