Griffith police are searching for a suspect in an armed robbery Sunday afternoon.
A 26-year-old woman who was getting out of her car in the 1700 block of Dylane Drive said a young-looking black man walked up with a handgun and robbed her about 3:30 p.m. Sunday. The woman’s cash and credit cards were taken. The gunman fled in a khaki-colored Chevrolet Impala with dark-tinted windows.
The man was about 5 feet 7, with a slender build. He had a dark complexion and braided hair.
Police are adding patrols to ensure public safety during the holidays, Chief Greg Mance said.
