LIBERTYVILLE — The Libertyville boys swim and dive team is in the midst of what could be a gripping conclusion to the 2014-15 season.

While one swimmer contributes in the present, he’s working toward building a compelling future for the Wildcats.

Senior Justin Fu is not a stranger to area swim fans. As a junior, he swam legs in the Wildcats state-medal-winning 200- and 400-yard freestyle relays. As an individual, he made the state cut in the 50 free. After the graduation of Libertyville stalwarts Alex Snarski, Bobby Snader and Atticus Rush, it’s easy to conclude more would be asked of Fu this season.

More has been asked of him, and his response is a boost to the program.

“His dedication to everything is really improved,” Libertyville coach Mike Cunningham said. “As far is getting the kids going and the team together, he is just really a workhorse.”
