Love new format
I love the new format of the News-Sun. The old paper was like a book or a magazine and was not what a paper should be. I’m really impressed that the paper has standings with our sport teams like the paper used to have many, many years ago. Kudos and good job.
Dislike the change
I also dislike the format of the News-Sun. It’s very difficult to read on the train or at home. This new paper takes up my entire kitchen table. But I must say it’s useful to put on the floor for my dogs if they have an accident at night.
No respect
The politicians in Illinois have no respect for anybody. All they want is to take your money. It’s time to say goodbye to them all.
Specific demands
A new contract should be written up for the teachers if they decide to strike again. The contract should include specific demands, such as, if you strike then you’re in violation. I worked for a utility company that went on strike and a new contract was written up and we couldn’t strike again. I believe the police department has a similar type of contract. When people work at a critical job that serves the public, it should be mandatory that they can’t strike.
Great sports coverage
Thank you for the new format of the News-Sun. It’s very, very nice. Thank you for putting in the professional sports in your sports section. Thank you, you’re doing a great job.
Worry about your ward
Since when does a beat patrolman, turned alderman, become a spokesman for the mayor’s office in Waukegan? The 8th Ward alderman should start worrying about the terrible potholes, unplowed streets, and the crime in that area instead of worrying about other wards. You were elected for the 8th Ward as an alderman, so start doing your job and forget about your ego, keep it at home.
Kudos to deputies
Hooray to the Lake County deputies that were involved in that prostitution raid. They did a wonderful job catching those johns. This a big deal for Lake County because many of our children are being preyed upon to become prostitutes.
Keep the new format
I was going to cancel my subscription to the News-Sun before you changed it to the new format. I really like your paper now, so please don’t change it again.
Ease off on spending
In regards to the Lake County Board making a decision to change the College of Lake County in downtown Waukegan from a three- to a six-story building. The city is spending all this money and the poor taxpayers have to pick up the slack. They need to ease off on the spending and bring things under control.
Fantastic job
What a wonderful, fantastic job you did on the News-Sun paper. Finally, I love it. Keep up the good work. Thank you, thank you.
Horrible website
Your new website is horrible. It’s hard to find things and scroll up and down.
Best alderman ever
I live in the 7th Ward and Lisa May is the best alderman we’ve ever had. When the light on the pole next to my house went out, it was fixed the next day. When people dump their junk, she makes sure it gets cleaned up. If someone has a problem, you can actually contact her, unlike my previous alderman.
