A class aimed at teaching disaster preparedness and first aid to members of the Park Ridge community begins this month.

The 2015 Community Emergency Response Team basic class starts Saturday, Feb. 21 at 8 a.m. at the Park Ridge Public Works Service Center, 400 Busse Highway. The class will meet on Saturday mornings for six weeks.

Participants in the class may also choose to be a CERT volunteer where they will receive additional training in disaster preparedness, fire safety, first aid, disaster medical operations and search and rescue.
