Indian Valley Theatre will perform “Lie, Cheat, and Genuflect” Feb. 20-22. Performances will follow a catered meal.
“Lie, Cheat and Genuflect” tells the story of scheming brothers, Tom and Billy. The two fear that they have been left out of their wealthy grandfather’s will, and their attempts to elbow their way back in leads to elaborate and hilarious shenanigans.
“The fast-paced humor in ‘Lie, Cheat, and Genuflect’ centers on slapstick in the tradition of the Marx Brothers, Abbott and Costello, and especially with the Buckle brothers — the Three Stooges,” said Dan Rosier, President of Indian Valley Theatre.
Dinner will be served before the show at 7 p.m. Feb. 20-21, and at 1 p.m. Feb 22 at the Fox Valley Older Adults Center, 1406 Suydam Rd., Sandwich. Tickets are $30 and can be purchased at indianvalleytheatre.com.
Peaceful Parlour celebrates Chinese New Year
Celebrate the year of the sheep with Peaceful Parlour in Geneva. The boutique is celebrating Chinese New Year with a meditation featuring the vibrational sounds of a gong.
“The sheep is a Yin energy, a symbol of peace, harmonious co-existence and tranquillity. That is the primary and fundamental mood for this year,” said Shari Ralish, owner of Peaceful Parlour.
Participants will learn self-healing techniques and explore internal alchemy and Jing Qi Shen. The session will feature vibrations from a gong handmade in the Wuhan province of China. The event is hosted by Petra Sliwiak, a Vibrational Healer.

Aurora roller derby team hosts fundraiser
The Aurora 88s Roller Derby team is hosting Family Fun Skate Fundraiser and Recruitment Night on Feb. 15. The event features games, a silent auction and face painting. The team will answer questions about becoming a skater, referee, non-skating official or volunteer.
Silent auction baskets include items from local businesses like Neurotic Turtle Soaps & Crafts and national companies like Roller Girl Wines. Official Aurora 88s merchandise is also available at the auction, including a signed helmet, wine glasses and T-shirts.
Join the Aurora 88s Roller Derby team at 5 p.m. Feb. 15 at Aurora Skate Center, 34W113 Montgomery Rd., Aurora. Admission is $6 and skate rental is $4. All funds support the team’s 2015 season.
