As a future veterinarian, I am concerned about seeing stray animals walking around in neighborhoods, especially in mine, which is located in Washington Park. These lost animals are suffering from starvation and sickness like rabies and they are also dying. I urge every animal center to come and rescue these animals off the streets.
All alone in our dark and cruel world, these felines and canines are facing challenges daily; they are being beaten, neglected, starved and killed by people, dog fights and diseases.
Animal-rescue centers and pet advocacy organizations should come together as one and rescue these animals off the streets. This would benefit stray animals by being in a warm and safe place and would enable all veterinarians to give medications and food to stray animals. I urge people to go neighborhood by neighborhood to rescue animals and bring them to an animal rescue center so they can receive medical attention and be adopted.
