No doubt Richard Schultz’s remark regarding a lower salary for Hillary Rodham Clinton, should she become our next president, was in jest (“Madame President,” Letter to the Editor, March 4). Nevertheless, the gender pay gap is a sensitive topic and Schultz’s comment was a dig. And of course, the presidential salary remains the same, no matter the gender. In any case, it’s obvious that “gender” is not just a term in grammar as Ogden Nash had once suggested.
