Hunter safety: The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission has a hunter safety Internet-completion course March 21 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Markham Park Target Range in Sunrise and another completion course March 22 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Deerfield Beach. Students must complete the Internet course before coming to class and bring a copy of the final report from the online portion of the course. An adult must accompany children under 16. Bird counting: Everglades National Park has a Big Day Birding Adventure on March 14, where the public helps count birds within the park’s varied habitats. Meet at the Anhinga Trail parking area at 8 a.m. Be prepared to drive your car more than 40 miles to Flamingo, stopping at points of interest along the main park road. Some walking is involved. Yard sale: The West Palm Beach Fishing Club has its annual yard sale of fishing and marine equipment from 7 a.m. to noon April 11 at the clubhouse at 201 Fifth Street. Items include rods, reels, lures, anchors, coolers, nets, dive gear, life rafts and tackle boxes. Proceeds benefit the youth education and conservation efforts of the Palm Beach County Fishing Foundation, such as its Kid’s Fishing Day and Rods and Reels For Kids programs.
