I know we are looking forward to spring. I for one am tired of snow. Here is the first golf outing information I have received. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Northwest Indiana is gearing up for its 2015 Golf Outing. This is the 28th year for the outing. Go online to check it out at http://www.bgcnwi.org or call Megan Henning, marketing manager, at (219) 881-1060 or email mhenning@bgcnwi.org. and save the date: July 27.

Congratulations to Megan McNamara for heading down state for cheerleading competition. Megan is my special make-believe granddaughter.

Opinion

Let’s make this clear. Some people accuse me of being biased against their candidates, left and right. I am that one vote every candidate wants so they can win. I am truly that independent voter. I truly am an equal opportunity picker-on-er.

It is time for some nationally elected people and those thinking about running to get picked on.

U.S. senators who sent a letter to the political heads of another government — shame on you. Negotiation is the job of the administration.

That takes care of angering the Republicans. Now the other side. This one has to be by name.

Hillary Clinton can not be trusted to follow the rules that other people are required to follow. There apparently are not any rules for the Clintons, they just make their own. Her use of private email while secretary of state raises one concern: her judgment. Another shame-on-you.

I understand a difference of opinion, and I will defend everyone’s right to free speech, even if I don’t agree with you. This column lets me express my views. The stories I write do not. They are just a report on what happened. You get to figure out your own opinion.

Remember to thank all those men and women who went or are still going into harm’s way to protect our right to free speech.

Keep in mind also that if we don’t stand up when they come for the other guy, who will be left to stand up for you when they come for you.

Stand up for our veterans. They need us.
