HOBART– Interested individuals can learn of the progress being made on the Hobart Marsh Plan at a summit scheduled from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday at Hobart Community Center, 111 Old Ridge Road.

A Hobart Marsh summit will be divided into three portions: a meet and greet with the conservation landowners from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m., organization presentations from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. and questions and answer period from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

The Hobart Marsh covers approximately 1,000 acres in the area roughly bordered by Mississippi Street on the west, South LaSalle Street on the east, 39th Avenue on the north and 57th Street on the south. The plan calls for low-impact public use of and access to the area, which includes native prairie, wetlands and woodlands.

Some of the conservation landowners include Friends of Robinson Lake, the Shirley Heinze Land Trust, National Park Service, Lake County Parks and Indiana Department of Natural Resources.
