Safety classes: AARP Driver Safety Course will be held from 9:15 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. April 12 and 14. It is the nation’s first and largest classroom refresher for motorists age 50 and older. Learn how to avoid driving hazards. Attendees must attend both days. Course fee is $20 per person due the first day of class with a $5 discount for AARP members. Registration requested.
Mixology: A mini-demonstration in mixology will be held at 6:30 p.m. April 15 at Rugan’s in Antioch, 921 Toft Ave. Bartender Johnny “Woodchuck” Coia will explain some common and perhaps not so common practices for mixing up that perfect cocktail. Get a little taste test of his concoctions while munching on a few appetizers and getting tips on mixing up your own signature cocktail. Must be 21 or over to attend. This is a free event sponsored by Rugan’s and the library. Registration is required.
