You don’t need to travel to Liverpool to hear the sounds of the Fab Four. Just head to County Line Orchard in Hobart for Beatles in the Barn.
The event takes place from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. Saturday and features local performers Chris & Lou and The Crawpuppies, as well as the music of both when they join musical forces to become the MegaBeatles.
The concert, which doubles as a charitable event, raises over $10,000 each year. This year proceeds will benefit the Food Bank of Northwest Indiana, which acquires, stores and distributes nearly 4.5 million meals across Northwest Indiana annually through its 100-plus partner agencies. Those agencies include soup kitchens and food pantries, as well as hunger relief programs such as Pantry on the Go, BackPack and Summer Feeding.
“The whole idea is to have some fun listening to some good music and support an organization that helps feed Northwest Indiana,” said Tom Collins Sr., president of Luke Oil Companies.
The Chris & Lou Band and the Crawpuppies Band will each perform songs separately before coming together to play as the MegaBeatles to end the show.
Ryan Richardson, vice-president of operations for County Line Orchard, said, “This group of local musicians are so talented and put an incredible amount of effort into studying the music of the Beatles. For any Beatles fan or music lover this is a show not to be missed.”
Tickets are going fast, Richardson said.
Beatles in the Barn started in 2010.
“It sells out every year with over 1000 in attendance,” he said “There are only a few VIP tickets left and just a couple 100 general admission left. There are no tickets at the door as this will sell out.”
Wine and beer tasting and appetizers are available with VIP tickets only, but there will be food and drinks available for purchase. There is also ample free parking at the County Line Orchard.
