Adolfo Davis was the first inmate in Cook County to be resentenced because of a U.S. Supreme Court decision regarding sentencing rules that violate the constitutional rights of juveniles. Davis was a juvenile when he was given a mandatory life sentence 24 years ago for a gang-related double murder at a South Side apartment.
