Head Start program in Oswego opens for season June 1
Del Valle Migrant Head Start in Oswego will welcome children and families of agricultural workers when it opens for the current season on June 1.
Del Valle is a nonprofit, full-day Head Start program, providing child development services for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years old of agricultural workers in this area since 1991. Licensed by the Illinois Department of Human Services, the school provides educational and day care services, medical and dental care, and meals and snacks to eligible children through the Child and Adult Care Food Program.
To be eligible for the program, the family must receive the majority of its income from agricultural work and must meet required guidelines. The program also serves children with disabilities. The school is currently enrolling eligible children through contact with local agencies, farms, growers, and nurseries. Anyone with any information regarding possible eligible children can contact the school at 815-436-1092.
