
Julie Bunnell, 35, grew up in Western Springs, but now calls La Grange home. She answered these questions keeping a close eye on her 5-year-old twins, Hudson and Gavin, on their birthday May 21 at the fountain next to the La Grange Village Hall.
Q: What do you like about living in La Grange?
A: I like being able to walk everywhere.
Q: What is your favorite local restaurant or store?
A: Pracino.
Q: What is your favorite local park?
A: Elm Park.
Q: What was your first job?
A: Tennis coach in Western Springs. It was a fun summer job. I played on the team at Lyons Township High School my first couple of years there.
Q: As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A: A teacher.
Q: What do you do now?
A: I’m a stay-at-home mom.
Q: Do you have any pets?
A: Honey, our cockapoo, who is 10 years old.
Q: What’s your favorite charity?
A: Pillars. I like to go to their events, except for the ball.
Q: What reality show would you be on?
A: “The Amazing Race.” I like to travel. Our favorite destination is probably Phoenix, where the boys’ grandparents live.
Q: What was your best birthday present?
A: My boys. They were born right around my 30th birthday.
Q: What words of wisdom would you offer?
A: Enjoy the moment!
