Can you provide some updates on Will Montgomery and Hroniss Grasu? How are the reps divided between them? — @Dial54
There really hasn’t been a division of labor when it comes to the first team. Montgomery is working with the starters and that doesn’t come as a surprise to me. The Bears never billed that as an open competition.
Has a starting job just been handed to Montgomery? No. Can Grasu make a bid for playing time at some point as a rookie? Yes. But Montgomery has the benefit of playing for Adam Gase and line coach Dave Magazu last season in Denver. So he knows the line calls and what is supposed to happen. Grasu is making the adjustment from the college level and a spread offense. There is a learning curve for him.
