On the mound
Coming off his no-hitter against the Dodgers, Arrieta threw eight shutout innings, allowing four hits with no walks and seven strikeouts. He has thrown 29 consecutive scoreless innings. Hector Rondon came on in the ninth to post his 26th save.
At the plate
David Ross drove in the first run with an RBI groundout off Robbie Ray in the fourth inning. Dexter Fowler hit a home run in the fifth to make it 2-0. The Cubs had only four hits.
In the field
Shortstop Addison Russell made a leaping catch to rob A.J. Pollack of a hit in the third. Kris Bryant started in left field but moved to third base and made a nice stab to start a big double play in the ninth.
