Mayor Rahm Emanuel offers free tuition to the City Colleges for Chicago Public Schools students who graduate with a certain grade point average.
I would like to know why that is not offered to Catholic school and private school pupils. I feel we are being discriminated against.
People who send their children to private schools are saving the city of Chicago millions of dollars. The very least Emanuel could do is offer private school graduates with the qualified grade point average the same benefit of free tuition to the City Colleges.
Many of the private school students who qualify must work to pay their own tuition.
Therefore, I feel this incentive of free tuition should be offered to all. After all, people who send their children to private schools also pay their taxes.
