A Silver Alert has been issued for a Gary woman who went missing Sept. 23.
Carolyn Rimpson, 61, was dropped off at 6 p.m. at her home on the 4000 block of Connecticut St., Gary Police Department Spokeswoman Lt. Dawn Westerfield said Monday. She was reported missing Sept. 24; the Indiana State Police in its alert said Rimpson was last seen at 8 a.m. Sept. 24 in the area of 40th Avenue and Connecticut Street.
She has never been reported missing before, Westerfield said.
Westerfield said Rimpson is “intellectually challenged” and, because she is very friendly, could be taken advantage of easily. She also suffers from hypertension.
Anyone with information on Rimpson is urged to call the Gary Police Department at 219-881-1260 or call 911.
