An Aurora man is facing home invasion charges after police said he forced his way into an Aurora home on Thursday and injured a man inside.

According to Aurora Police Department spokesman Dan Ferrelli, officers were called around 3:16 a.m. to a home in the 1300 block of North Glen Circle for reports of a home invasion.

Police said Edgar Talbert, 25, 0-99 block of South View Street, forced his way into an apartment armed with a large stick and began fighting with a man inside.

Ferrelli said a woman was inside the home as well, but was not injured.

During the scuffle, Talbert allegedly bit the male resident, Ferrelli said. The man was able to push Talbert out the door and call 911, police said.

When officers arrived, Talbert was taken into custody. He was charged with two counts of felony home invasion and felony battery.

While he was in booking at the Aurora Police Department, police said Talbert called the woman who was inside the apartment and made threatening statements. He was subsequently charged with felony telephone harassment.

Ferrelli said the incident is domestic-related. The male in the house refused medical treatment.
